Excitements Await in Norfolk This Half-Term

Good Afternoon,

Who doesn’t love the thought of a small child with a teddy bear? There’s a myriad of events going on over the February half term in Norfolk, but one I like the sound of is the Teddy Bear Express on the Bure Valley Railway. These heritage railways are an integral part of Norfolk’s landscape, mostly run by volunteers, so it’s always great to support them and the work they do in order for these attractions to continue.

From between 15th – 23rd February you can book tickets for this train ride. And actually, who says you have a to be a child! Kids go free, and there’s a themed activity to keep them amused during the trip. Maximum 2 children (0-15) per adult.

Holkham Hall are putting on a Nature Explorers trail around the park over the half term. This is a great way to get the children out in the fresh air, go for a walk but at the same time enjoy the beautiful surroundings. For an additional cost, there’s a “Make a Lapwing” workshop with Sarah Wise from the Fairyland Trust. You can find more details by clicking the link.

If it’s raining, or even if it’s not (!), then I would suggest an excellent outing would be to the Bug Parc. With over 300 species and more than 230 vivariams on show, this is a truly exciting experience, trust me! You could even book into a handling session. The kids will absolutely love it, and so will you!

And now for something completely different! How about a musical extravaganza at the Maddermarket Theatre! The KIDZ POP PARTY, running from 19th to 22nd February 2025, promises 90 minutes of non-stop family fun. This live spectacular features a band, singers, dancers, comedy acts, and even circus performers. Don't miss this chance to experience the vibrant arts scene of Norwich with this show.

Next week you can find out about Norfolk’s royal connections.

Best wishes,
