Norfolk's Stately Homes Aglow for the Holidays

Good Afternoon,

As Christmas is almost upon us, Norfolk's grand stately homes are donning their festive finery, ready to welcome visitors for a magical Christmas experience. Here’s your chance to immerse yourself in the holiday traditions of Norfolk's most prestigious estates.

Blickling Hall: A Winter Wonderland
Blickling Hall, with its stunning Jacobean architecture transforms into a winter wonderland during the festive season with two events. From 30 November to 5 January, "Journey Through the Stars" invites you to explore star-filled rooms. The house is open daily from 11am to 3pm, featuring light installations and family activities. In the evenings from 30 November to 15 December, the "Garden of Lights" event transforms the estate with colourful displays and illuminations. This accessible route takes visitors through themed seasonal areas, offering festive treats and activities. Advance booking is required for the evening event.

Oxburgh Hall: A Tudor Christmas
Oxburgh Estate offers a 'Twelve Days of Christmas' family trail, both indoors and outdoors, featuring interactive and sensory elements. Father Christmas himself will be telling Christmas tales in the cosy second-hand bookshop. Those with creative minds can join wreath-making workshops or participate in family crafts in the Gun Room. The estate has traditional decorations, candles, and twinkling lights. They are also offering a SEN opening, providing a calmer environment to enjoy the Christmas transformation of Oxburgh Hall.

As darkness falls, take the mile-long journey through the Royal Parkland, featuring stunning light installations set to music. This is perfect for all ages, the trail takes 60-90 minutes to complete and includes interactive elements, fire pits for marshmallow toasting (yum!), and festive refreshments. With entry times from 4:30pm to 8pm nightly, this spectacular event promises to become a new Christmas tradition in Norfolk. Pre-booking is essential.
