Explore Sheringham: Your Guide to Norfolk's Coastal Seaside Town February 27, 2025 |
Explore Sheringham: Your Guide to Norfolk's Coastal Seaside Town Good Afternoon, Today I want to bring to your attention a town that I think is often underrated. Sheringham. This is a vibrant coastal town on the North Norfolk coast, and if you’re planning your first visit, then Sheringham offers a wealth of activities waiting to be discovered. If you’re a local resident, you probably already know this! Sheringham boasts a fantastic Blue Flag beach meaning it’s met strict standards for water quality and safe waters. When the tide’s out it reveals a beautiful sandy beach with fascinating rock pools full of watery wildlife which the kids love! For breathtaking views, take a walk along the coastal path over Beeston Bump which used to be a WWII listening station. Sheringham is the perfect place for invigorating walks. It’s actually the only place on the Norfolk Coast that has a couple of “steep” inclines! You can step back in time as you explore Sheringham's deep-rooted history. With over 1,000 years of Viking heritage, the town's history comes alive through its festivals and local museums. And don't miss the chance to ride the North Norfolk Railway, also known as the Poppy Line, for a nostalgic journey through the beautiful coastal countryside to Holt. If it’s action you’re after, visit The Reef Leisure Centre which provides state-of-the-art facilities, including a 25-metre swimming pool and a well-equipped gym. Not forgetting Sheringham Golf course, a truly challenging 18 hole championship course. I think it's time you explored sheringham in more detail!
Next week we’re into March and I'll be bringing you another Victorian seaside town on the west coast of Norfolk.
Best wishes, Suzy P.S. If you’re wondering about places to stay around Sheringham, then Glaven Valley Holiday Cottages will have something for you. Check them out before the rush starts. |
