Royal Retreats and Local Treats!

Good afternoon,

Located in the heart of West Norfolk, Sandringham House is more than just a royal residence - it's an eye into the world of regal splendour.

Step inside the house, and I think you’ll be amazed at how intimate it feels. Each room tells a story, from the saloon with its intricate silver and gold leaf decorations to the ballroom where countless royal parties have taken place. Personal touches have been left by different monarchs - Queen Alexandra's collection of jade and King George V's extensive gun collection, to name but a few.

The gardens are fantastic and a lovely space in which to wander around.

If you’re feeling a bit more adventurous, the estate's vast parklands and woodlands beckon. You can have a chance to explore the network of trails that wind through these ancient woodlands.

I love visiting Sandringham and just feel it offers an unforgettable experience.

You can read more about Sandringham House here.

After exploring Sandringham, why not unwind with a drink and a meal at the recently reopened Coach and Horses in nearby Dersingham.

This pub, which dates back to 1845, now boasts a beautifully refurbished restaurant and bar, along with eight luxury hotel rooms. With its focus on local ingredients, including fresh meat from local farms, the Coach and Horses is the perfect mix of history and modern comfort.

I’ll be back next week to tell you more about the intrigues of a neolithic mine!

Best wishes,

Suzy
